Referring to Afghanistan’s history and its achievements in recent years, Ambassador Erfani noted that, “Afghanistan, home of an ancient civilization, has had a prominent role in promoting culture and science globally. Pre-eminent Afghan personalities … all contributed to the world civilizations.” He recalled the heavy price paid by the people of Afghanistan in their journey to independence.
