H.E. Ambassador Khojesta Fana warmly welcomed H.E. Muzaffar Huseinzoda, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, to the closing session of the Forum for Security Co-operation (FSC) under the Chairmanship of the Republic of Tajikistan. She commended the leadership Tajikistan, especially H.E. Idibek Kalandar, for the excellent efforts in chairing the OSCE Forum on Security Cooperation in these last months.
Tajikistan and Afghanistan have been connected for a long time and Afghanistan serves as a land bridge between Central and South Asia. Over recent months and years, Afghanistan and Tajikistan have stepped up their co-operation in a broad range of areas, both bilaterally and in the multilateral framework of the OSCE.
Both the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and the Border Management Staff College (BMSC) further served as a catalyst towards increased collaboration between Tajikistan as OSCE participating State and Afghanistan as an OSCE Asian Partner for Co-operation.
The Permanent Mission of Afghanistan in Vienna wishes all the best to the incoming Czech Republic FSC Chairmanship and looks forward to further cooperate in the political-military dimension of the OSCE.
