H.E. Ambassador Khojesta Fana Ebrahimkhel met and congratulated Ms. Sedef Dearing the Regional Coordinator for Silk Routes Region of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) on her new appointment as the Head of the Secretariat of the Budapest Process.
The Budapest Process is the ICMPD project which is very important and a priority for the mission of Afghanistan in Vienna. Ambassador Ebrahimkhel expressed her appreciation for continuous engagement and hoped to witness the next phase of the Budapest Process.
During the meeting, Ambassador Ebrahimkhel highlighted the excellent and long-standing relations between ICMPD and the Government of Afghanistan. Afghanistan, like many other countries, counts the ICMPD as one of its stalwart supporters in the area of refugees and migration.
Ambassador Ebrahimkhel was very pleased to hear the many achievements and positive experiences of ICMPD in carrying out two large projects in Afghanistan, namely “Improving Migration Management in the Silk Routes Countries” and “Integrated Border Management in the Silk Routes Countries”.
Ambassador thanked the Regional Coordinator and her dedicated team for the efforts and stated her sincere desire to further strengthen the cordial relations, both personal and official between ICMPD and the Afghan mission.
Vacancy – Personal Assistant to Ambassador
The Embassy and Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Vienna is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual for the position of Personal Assistant to the Ambassador.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Today, H.E. Ambassador Khojesta Fana met with former Austrian Ambassadors to Afghanistan, Austrian government officials from the Ministry of Interior and the Federal Ministry of Austria, Directors of Austrian Organisations and experts from the private sector and civil society.
The Ambassador highlighted the excellent and long-standing bilateral relations between Austria and Afghanistan, going back to the 1950s, which have been developed across many sectors ranging from culture to sports and trade.
Fostering the excellent relations with the beautiful host country Austria is certainly a priority for the Embassy of Afghanistan in Vienna, especially in preparation for the upcoming 100 years Independence Anniversary of Afghanistan.
To have a memorable celebration, the Ambassador is supposed to honor those prominent Austrian personalities who have been instrumental to the advancement of Afghanistan’s relation with Austria and contributory to Afghanistan’s bright future.
The Ambassador concluded the meeting by presenting saffron as a token of appreciation to the Austrian friends of Afghanistan. Saffron is the symbol of a changing Afghanistan holding significant economic, trade and investment opportunities.
