On Friday, 04 October 2019, H.E. Ambassador Khojesta Fana Ebrahimkhel presented her Letters of Credence and the Letters of Recall of her predecessor, Mr. Najibullah Alikhel, to His Excellency Mr. János Áder, President of the Republic of Hungary. This marked the starting point of her tenure as non-resident Ambassador of Afghanistan to Hungary. Ambassador Ebrahimkhel conveyed H.E. President Ghani’s strong commitment for enhancing the bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Hungary and pledged her full cooperation to strengthen their friendly relations. She expressed Afghanistan’s desire in strengthening relations, particularly in the areas of education, economic, water management, youth, and women empowerment.
Before the Ceremony of the Presentation of Credentials, Ambassador Ebrahimkhel presented the copies of her Credential Letters as Non-Resident Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Hungary, to Ms. Edina Pásztor, Chief of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
During her visit to Budapest, Ambassador Khojesta Fana Ebrahimkhel met with the Director-General of the Asia-Pacific Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Dr. Péter Jakab. Dr. Jakab welcomed Ambassador and her accompanying team to Budapest and briefed the Ambassador on his job portfolio and the meetings organized in the margin of the presentation of Credential Letters scheduled on 4th October. Subsequently, they discussed topics of mutual interest in different areas for strengthening the bilateral relations among both countries.
Ambassador Ebrahimkhel also had the chance to meet with Deputy State Secretary for the Development of Relations with the South of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, H.E. László Váradi. They discussed topics of mutual interests and emphasized on deepening of bilateral relations in the areas of education, agriculture, water management, women empowerment, youth, and parliamentary exchanges.
Lastly, Ambassador Ebrahimkhel met with the Head of State Secretariat for the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy and the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme, Mr. Miklós Lengyel, where they discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations in the area of education and preliminary steps for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme.
