Ambassador Khojesta Fana Ebrahimkhel inaugurated today the opening of a Cultural Room in the premises of the Embassy and Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Vienna with the presence of H.E. Ms. Teresa Indjein, Director General for International Cultural Relations at the Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Khojesta Fana Ebrahimkhel, in her inauguration speech, highlighted the excellent and long-standing bilateral relations between Austria and Afghanistan, going back to the 1950s, and which have developed across many sectors ranging from culture to sports and trade.
One of the main priorities of the strategic plan of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Vienna is the strengthening of the bilateral relationship with the Austrian Government, and culture is one of the most meaningful aspects in bringing closer two countries.
The establishment of a Cultural Room at the Embassy of Afghanistan is an effort to further improve the coexistence between Afghan citizens in Austria and the Austrians. Austria is home to many Afghan people who have been warmly welcomed here and we owe a great deal to this beautiful and safe country, from providing safety for our families to the education of our children.
The diaspora plays a crucial role in reciprocally stimulating the relations between Austria and Afghanistan and this is why fostering our excellent relations with the beautiful host country Austria is certainly a priority.
Ambassador Khojesta Fana Ebrahimkhel concluded her speech by acknowledging the great achievements Afghan citizens have made here in Austria and pledged to motivate them to further contribute to the relations between our two countries.
Afghanistan is an ancient land, where indications of early inhabitants can be traced back to the early Indus Valley Civilization. Its geographical location along with its hospitable people has always played a mingling factor in the advancement of the world’s different civilizations. Afghanistan has wonderful things to show here in Austria, starting from cultural issues. This Cultural Room will serve the purpose of sending a positive message to the Austrian population.
